The US-Singapore Partnership for Growth and Innovation (PGI) aims to strengthen US-Singapore trade and investment collaboration starting with four pillar areas: digital economy, clean energy and environmental technologies, advanced manufacturing and healthcare. Through this partnership, the US and Singapore seek to discuss immediate and long-term challenges that face both economies, including enhancing supply chain resilience.

Although the Southeast Asia region has great potential for growth, businesses are grappling with challenges to their supply chains including those relating to transparency, data flows, and sustainability tracking. With the PGI, we can help shape an Asia-ready integrated manufacturing solution for digitalization to ensure supply chain continuity.

Mr. Clarence Hoe was appointed Global Market Director of Americas and Western Europe Division with effect from 1 July 2019. He will be leading his teams to promote trade, investment and enterprise innovation between Singapore and the regions of North America, Latin America and Western Europe.

Enterprise Singapore, formerly International Enterprise Singapore and SPRING Singapore, is the government agency championing enterprise development. The agency works with committed companies to build capabilities, innovate and internationalise. It also supports the growth of Singapore as a hub for global trading and startups. As the national standards and accreditation body, Enterprise Singapore continues to build trust in Singapore’s products and services through quality and standards.

Since 2005, Clarence had constantly led initiatives to help companies innovate and internationalise. As Centre Director based in Sao Paulo, he facilitated the market entry of companies in oil and gas, real estate, utilities, airport management, retail and food distribution to regions like Brazil, Argentina, Peru and Chile. As Director for Infrastructure Services Division, he facilitated architecture, facilities mangagement, property developers and construction firms venture to new markets like China, South East Asia, India and Middle East; and he worked closely with key partners to setup a Smart Estate Co-Innovation Lab which provides the sector opportunities to develop new solution to meet the current urban needs in the region.

Clarence was also HR Director between 2012 to 2018 where he oversaw the talent management, learning and development, and HR operations, and was nominated as finalist for LinkedIn’s inaugural Conscious Business Leadership Awards.

Prior to joining ESG, Clarence also contributed in JTC to conceptualise and develop industrial parks; as well as in Ministry of Trade and Industry for a national project to help finetune government policies and incentives to assist Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Singapore to be globally competitive.

Seow Hwee is the Head of Cargo Solutions Business, South East Asia, PSA Corporation Limited. She reports to the Regional Chief Executive Officer (South East Asia) of PSA Corporation Limited and is a Senior Management Member of PSA South East Asia.

As Head of Cargo Solutions Business, Seow Hwee leads the cargo solutions development for targeted sectors of interest at the ports’ adjacencies, with key stakeholders and customers, and supported by the digital platform, CALISTA. Cargo Solutions is a new adjacency that PSA embarked to expand beyond its traditional port boundary into the supply chain adjacencies. Leveraging its core competencies of port operations. PSA Cargo Solutions seeks to add value to customers’ supply chain management by offering enhanced visibility and flexibility for customers’ supply chain logistics tapping on port network, assets and systems.

Seow Hwee has more than 20 years of experience in the maritime industry. She has progressed in her career and held various management positions both in PSA Singapore as well as its oversea joint venture. She was a pioneer leading the start-up of present day Pasir Panjang Terminal as well as the set-up of PSA-Guangzhou Joint Venture Container Terminal in China. Prior to her appointment to head the Cargo Solutions Business Division, Seow Hwee headed the Terminal Services Division to oversee a diverse and wide variety of portfolio and key hub services of PSA Singapore including berthing, transhipment connectivity, integrated operations resources management, haulier and dangerous goods Services, foreign resources management and data analytics. With her strong domain in terminal operations and management, Seow Hwee has also been the key touchpoint representing operations and business and working with IT division to coordinate overall planning and organising of user requirements, system testing, delivery and implementation schedules for several projects including the Terminal Operating System (TOS) and PSA’s flagship product, PORTNET.

As a People Developer, Seow Hwee is the mentor of PSA younger talents from Operations, IT, Finance, HR and Procurement Divisions providing guidance and counsel on their personal as well as career development.

Outside of work, Seow Hwee helps out in Grassroots activities and is a Volunteer Counsellor.

An industrial engineer by trade, Willson has implemented improvement projects in manufacturing industries ranging from aeronautics to smart meters, wineries, gourmet chocolates, glass production and pharmaceuticals. He founded Arcstone in 2013, after he had been designing production simulation software for the world’s largest bio-manufacturers.

Focused on creating a global data driven manufacturing ecosystem, he led Arcstone to develop arc.opsTM and arc.netTM to efficiently provide visibility, control and optimisation to a massive range of industries from the shop floor to the entire manufacturing supply chain operations in real-time. The platforms enable companies to automate, integrate and streamline entire processes within a facility and across continents at fractions of market cost.

He continues to drive a data-centric manufacturing revolution in Southeast Asia, encouraging like-minded companies to upend the status quo for manufacturing enterprise solutions through the Singapore Manufacturing Consortium (SIMCO).

Willson holds a MSc from INSEAD Business School and a BS in Industrial Engineering from UC Berkeley. He received Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Asia Award in 2016 and is heavily active as an Industry 4.0 and Smart Manufacturing Transformation speaker globally.
