Event Details
Join AmCham Singapore for its second Balestier Series event of 2023 featuring Mr. Gan Kim Yong, Minister for Trade & Industry. This event is a key part of AmCham's year-long 50th Anniversary Celebrations.
Minister Gan will share insights on the economic partnership between Singapore and the U.S. This will include both countries' trade and investment links, cooperation in bilateral platforms such as the Partnership for Growth and Innovation (PGI), as well as regional initiatives like the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) which seeks to strengthen collaboration in forward-looking areas such as the digital and green economies, as well as supply chain resilience.
In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of AmCham Singapore, The Future of The American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore whitepaper will also be launched at this event. The paper will present observations and recommendations on the role and future of AmCham Singapore, including how the chamber can leverage on emerging opportunities and trends, with a focus on talent development, sustainability, and digital value creation.
The Balestier Series hosts distinguished Singaporean leaders from key sectors and Singapore Ministers who address AmCham members on subjects of significance. Launched in 2014, AmCham's Balestier Series celebrates two centuries of economic and commercial exchange between Singapore and the United States. The Series is named after Joseph Balestier, the first consul to Singapore for the United States who served from 1837 to 1852.
