Cyber hacking, also known as cyber attacking, is the practice of intentionally exploiting weaknesses in an organization's computer systems and comes in various forms such as malware, denial of service (DoS), ransomware, espionage, and phishing.
The global cost of cyberattacks is expected to reach over $10 trillion USD annually by 2025, up from $3 trillion USD in 2015. Successful cyberattacks can cripple entire enterprises. They can result in costly downtime that leads to major service interruptions and financial losses, data loss or manipulation, and money loss through ransoms.
Despite an organization's investment in the best cyber security solutions, cyberattacks are inevitable. Due to constantly evolving and growing threats and vulnerabilities, it is difficult to defend against all cyber threats. What's becoming clearer is that protecting an organization against cyber attacks is a whole-of-enterprise endeavor, spanning from Boards to employees and even to a company's supply chain and business partners. The latest defense paradigm is a strategy for cyber resilience. This includes solutions to prevent cyber hacking tools to mitigate the impact of a successful attack, and capabilities that organizations need to develop to identify and protect their assets against attacks. Having a better understanding of the anatomy of a hack will aid in bolstering an organization's defenses.
Join us as our panel of experts walk us through common types of attacks, what happens during a hack, how to respond, and why it is important to invest into your cyber defense.
