Climate-related disclosures are now being demanded by a variety of stakeholders, from investors to boards to regulatory bodies. While disclosures can pose major challenges, they can also open up opportunities to enhance transparency, compliance, and corporate governance; bolster brand reputation; improve stakeholder relations; and enable proactive decision-making through the early identification of risks. With regulations constantly evolving, companies need to understand the nuances of disclosure requirements and be prepared for regulatory changes. AmChamSG's new series is designed to empower companies to navigate these complexities and harness reporting as a competitive advantage.
In our inaugural session, we will focus on the regulatory landscape in Singapore and globally, where reporting and disclosure requirements are rapidly evolving with new mandates announced just this year, including new rules coming out of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Singapore's Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA). Minimal compliance measures are just the starting point—this session aims to explore beyond the basics by addressing challenges, opportunities, and best practices that are essential for any organization.
Join AmChamSG as our panel of experts delve into different reporting standards and frameworks such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), and the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD); disclosure challenges for SMEs and potential strategies and programs to help SMEs meet these disclosure demands; and strategies for harmonizing reporting efforts across multiple jurisdictions.
