As a small city-state, planning for sustainable growth while balancing economic, social and environmental considerations is a key priority. Singapore has always appreciated the importance of sustainable development, resource optimization and integrated urban planning in meeting the needs of current and future generations. The onslaught of COVID-19 has brought on both complex urban challenges but also opportunities for change to a different way of living, working and enjoying leisure and recreation.

COVID-19 has also severely disrupted international travel over the past two years. While international travel recovery is in its early stages, Singapore continues to develop a strong pipeline of attractions and entertainment concepts to put us in a good position for recovery.

Singapore is also proactively seeking inspiring ideas and investment for tourism initiatives, in particular for greenfield developments like the Jurong Lake District Tourism Development. STB welcomes collaborations with global technology and concept owners to test-bed and ideate unique products and experiences in Singapore. We encourage like-minded partners to use Singapore as a lab to jointly reimagine the future of tourism. It is with such dynamic rejuvenation of our tourism landscape that Singapore remains competitive as a compelling destination.

According to AirBnB's 2021 Report on Travel and Living, loosening COVID-19 restrictions mean travel is evolving from an activity that exists apart from day-to-day-life to an actual way of life. Travel is on track to not only recover but to recover and grow in a healthier way.

Ashlynn is Director to the Singapore Tourism Board’s Attractions, Entertainment & Tourism Concept Development division. She oversees the Board’s efforts to develop vibrant attractions and entertainment eco-system in Singapore and leads the Tourism Concept Development team to identify and develop new, innovative tourism zones that will enhance Singapore’s destination appeal and vibrancy. Prior to her current appointment, she was in charge of tour and industry development for travel agents, and held other roles ranging from market development to marketing and branding.

Ashlynn holds a BBA from the National University of Singapore and is a Sloan Fellow with an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Minsook Cho is a Senior Vice President at Mastercard and is responsible for leading Advisors Client Services team across Asia Pacific. Advisors combine traditional management consulting with Mastercard’s rich data assets and in-house technology to provide our clients and partners with powerful strategic insights and recommendations. In her current role, Minsook leads projects across various industries including Finance, Retail / E-commerce, Fintech, Travel and Government. Prior to Mastercard, Minsook worked at the Boston Consulting Group – working in their Seoul, Tokyo, Bangkok, and Mumbai offices – and then Rocket Internet GmbH, where she was instrumental in the launch of Lazada Philippines and Foodpanda South East Asia. She holds a BSc in materials science engineering from Seoul National University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Mich Goh is the Head of Public Policy for Airbnb in Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and India. She manages policy initiatives, and engages with government, elected officials, associations and other relevant third parties across these countries in support of a fair and progressive regulatory framework that embraces the potential of short-term rental. She was previously a consultant who led teams advising multinational companies in the Technology and Consumer sectors on government relations, public policy and public affairs strategies across Asia Pacific. She holds a business management degree from the Singapore Management University, with majors in Marketing and Political Science. Mich is the Vice Chair of the US-ASEAN Business Council’s Travel and Tourism Committee, the Honorary Secretary of the Pacific Asia Travel Association Singapore Chapter, and a committee member of the Urban Land Institute’s Young Leaders Group in Singapore.

Ms Yvonne Lim is presently the Group Director (Physical Planning). She is involved in the planning of Singapore’s land use, the Master Plan, formulating planning strategies to achieve our land use plans and communicating our land use plan to the public.

Ms Lim started as a Planner with the Physical Planning Group in URA. She was seconded to the Ministry of National Development in 2006 as Assistant Director, Strategic Planning Division and then as Deputy Director, Infrastructure Division from 2009 to 2011. She was Director (Strategic Planning) from 2011 and worked with her team to deliver the 2013 Land Use plan that mapped out the land use strategies and land needed to meet Singapore’s long term growth needs.

In 2015, she assumed the role of Group Director (Physical Planning) and is a key lead in the delivery of the draft master plan 2019 that was completed in 2019. The plan included strategies to develop our key gateway nodes covering Jurong Lake District, Woodlands North Coast and Changi Region.
