The Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) will be briefing members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore (AmChamSG) and the US-ASEAN Business Council on key business developments in Singapore, including details of the recently announced Singapore Budget 2024.

Join us for this in-person dialogue to hear from EDB on BEPS2.0, growth opportunities in advanced manufacturing, sustainability, the digital economy, and other emerging areas, as well as how Singapore will support companies' talent and innovation needs.

Mr Samuel Chan is the Vice President and Head of Agrifood at the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB). He leads the development of the Agrifood ecosystem in Singapore, working with industry, academia, and government to spur economic growth, job creation and food resilience.

He is also the Head of Americas and leads EDB’s Chicago, Houston, New York, San Francisco, Sao Paulo, and Washington DC offices in supporting companies as they establish and grow their operations in Asia.

Mr Chan joined EDB in 2011 and has worked in various roles including Cleantech and Infrastructure Planning and Policy. Prior to joining EDB, Samuel worked at Bain and Company Southeast Asia and at CMG Retail.

Mr Chan graduated from the Singapore Management University with a double degree in business and economics. He is also a Sloan Fellow with a Master of Business Administration from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology

Lee-Mey Goh is the Director of Strategic Partnerships and Development at The American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Singapore. In this role, she is responsible for the overall business performance of the Chamber and advancement of stakeholder and partner engagement.

Lee-Mey joins from the Singapore Economic Development Board having worked with leading pharmaceutical and medical technology companies to drive the development of Singapore's biomedical sector via investment promotion and policy innovation. Prior to this she excelled in academic publishing, having served for 4 years in London as Editor at the British Medical Association and Mark Allen Group across various healthcare and veterinary science journals.

Lee-Mey is a graduate of Durham University, UK with a first-class honors degree in English. She is a recipient of the Ruth Bostock Memorial Prize and Faculty of Arts and Humanities Scholarship in 2012 specializing in Classics and Old English.

Jia Yong is Assistant Vice President, Industry Manpower Development, at the Singapore Economic Development Board. He leads efforts to build an industry-ready workforce in Singapore, including developing tools and initiatives to enable access to complementary global talent and shaping national manpower policies and strategies.

Prior to his current role, Jia Yong held various appointments in the Ministry of Manpower, with roles in HR sector development, data policy and planning, and income security. He also had a stint at the Ministry of Trade and Industry, where he covered energy markets.

Jia Yong graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences (Economics).

Ambassador Brian D. McFeeters (ret.) joined the US-ASEAN Business Council on October 1, 2023, as the Senior Vice President and Regional Managing Director. From Singapore, he will support the Council's 175 members and supervise Council matters in the ASEAN region, namely Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. During his extensive career, McFeeters has made valuable contributions to diplomatic missions worldwide, serving in critical positions in countries including Indonesia, South Korea, and Malaysia, and advancing U.S. business interests multilaterally at the U.S. Missions to the European Union, in Brussels, and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, in Paris.

Spending half of his 32-year Foreign Service career in Asia, Ambassador McFeeters most recently served as the U.S. envoy to Malaysia from February 2021 to August 2023. Previously, he was Senior Advisor to the Counselor of the Department of State, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs, Deputy Chief of Mission, U.S. Embassy Iraq, and Deputy Chief of Mission, U.S. Embassy Indonesia, among other assignments.

Before his diplomatic career, McFeeters worked in the private sector as an analyst at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC). He also served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force at the Air Force Weapons Lab. Ambassador McFeeters holds an M.A. in International Affairs from SAIS Johns Hopkins, an M.S. in Chemistry from the University of New Mexico, a B.S. in Chemistry, and a B.A. in English from the University of Notre Dame.
