The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and AI Verify Foundation are seeking feedback on the proposed Model AI Governance Framework for Generative AI. Singapore released the first version of its Model AI Governance Framework in 2019 and updated it in 2020. With the generative AI space developing quickly and with significant transformative potential, Singapore seeks to holistically address new issues that have emerged.

The framework looks at nine proposed dimensions to support a comprehensive and trusted AI ecosystem:

1. Accountability

2. Data

3. Trusted Development and Deployment

4. Incident Reporting

5. Testing and Assurance

6. Security

7. Content Provenance

8. Safety and Alignment R&D

9. AI for Public Good

Join AmCham for a roundtable discussion on Thursday, February 15, to review and raise any issues or concerns on the proposed framework. Depending on member feedback, AmCham may consolidate and submit AmCham feedback to IMDA thereafter.

Ruma Balasubramanian

Managing Director, APAC Corporate / Mid-Market Business of Google Cloud

Ruma is Managing Director for the Southeast Asia region at Google Cloud. She is responsible for driving go-to-market strategy, key customer and partner relationships, and operational execution in this fast growing market. Working with a team across Google, she is focused on helping accelerate customer digital transformation initiatives through data-powered innovation with Google Cloud Platform and Google Workspace. Ruma most recently served as the Vice President and Chief Transformation Officer for Cisco’s Asia Pacific, Japan and Greater China business. Prior to that, she held leadership roles for Cisco in enterprise and digital transformation, and the partner organisation. Ruma has also held Sales and General Management leadership positions in Asia with Hewlett Packard Enterprise Services. Ruma earned her BS in Computer Engineering from Columbia University and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. She resides in Singapore with her husband and daughter, and is passionate about helping women achieve their full potential in the STEM fields.
