Labor and manpower issues continue to plague several industries on the long road to recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. The economic downturn has resulted in manpower issues for many companies who are dealing with unexpected employment challenges, from retrenchment to wage reductions and even shifts towards contract work. Although Vietnam is one of the top destinations for business expansion, it also has some of the most restrictive employment laws in the region. This includes restrictions and requirements as to who can manage an enterprise in Vietnam, and the lack of government grants and incentives for recruitment, amongst others.

Andrea is a very experienced tax professional having worked in both practice and industry for over 30 years. She had a particular focus on global cross border transactions and projects working in the Infrastructure and Construction sector and was part of the E&C sector leadership team in her previous role at EY UK&I. This experience encompassed all aspects of taxation including those relating to the movement of people cross border. Andrea has extensive experience in putting together teams to provide the most relevant expertise for clients needs and prides herself in being seen as a trusted advisor to her clients. She led the first large Corporate tax compliance outsourcing contract for EY UK&I utilizing and managing resource in the UK and India and building the basis for the development of the CIT compliance process.

Andrea joined KPMG in Vietnam in November 2017 to enhance global delivery service of the tax practice working alongside highly experienced Vietnamese tax professionals in a rapidly evolving environment. She now leads the Global Mobility Services (GMS) practice in Vietnam with a focus on building a strong, innovative and experienced team and creating a key tax and immigration specialism with strong links into the global GMS practice and other areas of the KPMG Vietnam practice.
