While the global rollout of the COVID-19 vaccines is gaining speed, Singapore took the lead in Asia with its quick approval of two vaccines for use with the possibility of more vaccines coming soon. Despite the positive news, there are a number of considerations at play in the continued fight against COVID-19, including but not limited to supply chain bottlenecks, the complicated logistics and manpower issues involved in vaccinating an entire nation, and the willingness of the residents to get vaccinated.

Clair Deevy was appointed as Director of Public Policy for WhatsApp in 2019, she joined Facebook in 2015 and was previously Director of Community Affairs for Asia Pacific and Latin America. Working in the field of policy, communications and community partnerships for more than 20 years Clair’s professional and volunteer experience includes work in Government, NGOs, private sector and corporate foundations.

As Director of WhatsApp Clair develops and supports WhatsApp’s policy strategy and engagement throughout the world working with a cross-functional global team. Clair also manages strategic outreach to a wide variety of stakeholders across all sectors around issues and opportunities related to WhatsApp.

Previously with Microsoft for 10 years Clair’s spent most of her career there leading Microsoft’s Corporate Social Responsibility programs in Asia Pacific. Clair has developed a deep knowledge in the areas of digital and financial literacy, community engagement, women’s empowerment, and creating partnerships to create opportunities for positive social impact

Clair holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Environmental Management, a Master of Management, is a qualified Partnership Broker and in 2014 was appointed an Ambassador for Women in Technology for UNWomen Singapore Committee.

A/Prof Fiona Pearce is Deputy Director and Senior Principal Lead Specialist in Health Technology Assessment (HTA) at the Agency for Care Effectiveness (ACE), Ministry of Health Singapore. She is one of the founding members of ACE and was responsible for developing the HTA methods and processes which the agency uses to conduct evaluations of drugs and vaccines to inform national subsidy decisions. She was also involved in establishing Singapore’s national Rare Disease Fund in 2019 which provides long-term, financial support to patients with rare genetic diseases who require high cost treatments. Prior to joining ACE, A/Prof Pearce was a technical advisor at the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) for seven years, providing technical leadership on technology appraisals of medicines within the National Health Service (NHS) in the United Kingdom. She also established NICE's methods and processes to evaluate highly specialised technologies (ultra-orphan medicines) in 2013.

Before NICE, A/Prof Pearce worked for the Cochrane Collaboration (renal group) and in the pharmaceutical industry in various market access functions to achieve reimbursement of drugs and vaccines in Australia, New Zealand and across the Asia-Pacific region. She currently holds an adjunct appointment with Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore.

As Regional Business Lead of Worldwide Health for Microsoft Asia, Dr. Keren Priyadarshini leads the company’s healthcare business segment across 17 markets in Asia Pacific.

Dr. Priyadarshini is responsible for driving and implementing Microsoft’s healthcare initiatives across the region as well as developing solution offerings and strategies that meet the needs of healthcare and life science customers. She also plays a leading role in establishing thought leadership by defining and articulating the company’s vision for the future of healthcare and sharing how Microsoft technologies and partner solutions are making it a reality.

Dr. Priyadarshini is passionate about empowering providers, payors, and life science companies with the right technology to enable better patient outcomes at lower costs. Improving the quality of healthcare through digital transformation, enabling wider access to healthcare as life expectancy increases, and keeping rising costs in check are issues that keep her awake at night.

Her desire is to create a world of ‘Intelligent Healthcare’ through AI and the cloud, to unlock biological insight and break data from silos for a truly personal understanding of human health and in turn, enable better access to care, lower costs and improved outcomes.

Dr. Priyadarshini moved to Singapore almost 15 years ago and has been instrumental in establishing the Asia Pacific business for multinational healthcare companies such as GfK and Truven Health. Before joining Microsoft, Dr. Priyadarshini was the Asia Pacific Vice President of Sales for Truven Health Analytics, part of IBM Watson Health, where she pioneered the adoption of Watson in the region.

Born in Chennai, India, Dr. Priyadarshini graduated as a Fellow from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM-A), Ahmedabad, where she completed her Doctorate in Business Management.

Dr. Priyadarshini is married with two children. In her spare time, she works with less privileged kids and helps them realize their potential through innovative methods. She is also a foster parent with the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) in Singapore and has fostered several children over the last eight years.

Marine currently serves as the GM for Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar and Brunei for Sanofi.

Prior to this, she was the VP, Head of Global Commercial Transformation and Innovation, Classic & Established Products, and Business Lead for Innovation in Asia, GSK. There she was responsible for driving the adoption of GSK’s new commercial model, leading the implementation of digital customer engagement, as well as driving innovation and strategic partnerships in Asia.

Marine has worked with GSK in seven different countries across four continents. Her passion for leading change and driving innovation started when working on e-health initiatives in the late 90’s. She has since held leadership roles in GSK Pharmaceuticals, including VP & Commercial Director in France, and General Manager of GSK in Sweden.

Dr Noel Yeo is the Chief Operating Officer of IHH Healthcare Singapore.

Prior to this role, Dr Noel was the Senior Vice-President of Parkway Hospitals Singapore in 2020 and Chief Executive Officer of Mount Elizabeth Hospital since 2017. Dr Noel began private practice as a family physician and designated workplace doctor at Healthway Medical Group before entering healthcare management as Business Manager of Paediatrics.

Later, Dr Noel started Healthway Mobile, the ambulatory medical division. In 2013, he left Healthway to join Mount Elizabeth Hospital. Dr Noel also serves as a volunteer on the Central Singapore Community Development Council, the Singapore Medical Association Complaints Committee and the Society for the Aged Sick Executive Committee.
