Join us for the first ever AmCham Singapore Social Impact Fair as we commemorate Martin Luther King (MLK), Jr. Day of Service.


Learn more about the philanthropy and social impact landscape in Singapore and find out how you and your organization can support the local community. You can expect talks and booths by non-profit organizations, local charities, and the 2023 AmCham CARES recipients.


Observed annually on the third Monday in January, MLK Jr. Day commemorates the life and work of Dr. King, and is a National Day of Service that encourages all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities.

  • Adecco Personnel - Sharing exemplary sustainability practices which they integrate seamlessly into their daily operations. Engage with their team to find out more about Adecco's 360ยฐ workforce solutions capabilities across various sectors and functions, including ESG.
  • Cognizant - Cognizant is supporting local communities to thrive in the evolving AI-driven economy through a global skills initiative called Synapse. Their booth will share information of our programs and partnerships and will be seeking collaborations from interested organizations.
  • Junior Achievement Singapore - Junior Achievement Singapore's mission is to inspire, prepare and empower young people to succeed in the global economy. Since January 2008, JA Singapore has educated over 235,000 students from Kindergarten to University about work readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy using hands-on activities and interactive sessions.
  • LOVE, NILS - Outreach and volunteer support for LOVE, NILS work and impact to the community of children with cancer.
  • North East Community Development Council - Showcasing key projects including Shaping Hearts and Shaping Hearts merchandise, Project Refresh, Heart Bakers (with sampling of cookies) and information about SkillsFuture.
  • Oracle - Discover how Oracle invests in helping the community through volunteering efforts, donations, technology, sustainability programs, and employment opportunities.
  • Safe Space - Experience a transformative journey towards mental health awareness and resilience for women, youth and persons with disabilities and their caregivers. Engage in open conversations and explore innovative solutions that foster a supportive community. Join us in creating a safe space for mental well-being, where compassion and understanding pave the way for positive change.
  • Sewing Mums - Sewing Mums is a campaign that supports women with chronic illness or are caring for a sick child. Through home based sewing projects they are able to earn a livelihood and slowly build financial independence.
  • TalenTtrust- Discover the power of skills-based volunteering! Come hear from Talent Trust and Centre 42 at their booth โ€” where stories of impact unfold and how your skills can create waves of positive change with local non-profits and the wider ecosystem.
  • United Women Singapore - United Women Singapore (UWS) is a local non-profit organisation that advances women's empowerment and gender equality. The organisation works towards narrowing the gender equality gap through education and advocacy on issues of anti-violence and women's empowerment, with the support of partners from the public and private sectors.
  • ZapKad - Smart Business Cards for professionals and companies to network more effectively. Zapkad offers enterprise solutions for organizations to manage their business cards centrally with CRM and analytics. Companies use Zapkad today to improve productivity, save costs and reduce their carbon footprint.

The rapidly evolving job landscape requires jobseekers to embrace lifelong learning so that they can learn new skills (reskilling) and improve on what they are doing so that they are more efficient (upskilling). Many of these reskilling & upskilling endeavours require just an open mind and no specific technical knowledge. The rapidly evolving job landscape also brings fear to those who did not reskill and upskill themselves. Now it is time for you to know where the growth sectors for Singapore in the future and what employment opportunities are there for you in these growth sectors.

About North East CDC

Set up in 1997, the North East Community Development Council (NECDC) serves a population of over 970,000 residents. The North East District spans 21 divisions in Aljunied, Sengkang, Pasir Ris โ€“ Punggol, Tampines GRCs, Hougang and Punggol West SMCs.

Led by Mayor Desmond Choo, NECDC is driven by its mission to create a caring and inclusive community. It creates tailored programs and initiatives to address evolving resident needs, especially in the face of complex social challenges like the rising cost of living, a dynamic job market, an aging population, and the need to foster an inclusive society with a strong social compact. In this sharing session, Yan-Ling, representing a Charity (Centre 42), sheds light on how specialised skills amplify community impact. Lee-Mey, on the other hand, dives into her experience sharing how lending her skills and time as a volunteer enabled the Centre 42 team in their fundraising strategy. Finally, Dean shares why corporates should get involved, creating social impact whilst providing opportunities for staff to develop their personal and professional skills.
