Serene Ong is a dynamic corporate leader, visionary founder, and devoted mother of six. With over 20 years of experience spanning business development, healthcare, logistics, and clinical trials, she has collaborated with startups, pharmaceutical companies, venture capital firms, hospitals, and major global clinical trial organizations across the US, Europe, and Asia. Most recently, Serene held dual executive roles at Marken, a UPS company specializing in healthcare logistics, serving as Vice President of Global Sales Operations and Vice President of Commercial Operations for Asia Pacific.
A passionate advocate for women’s empowerment, Serene founded Phoenixus in 2023—a powerful network of senior women leaders committed to mentoring and nurturing the next generation of women in leadership while supporting underprivileged women and children in their communities. Her leadership is characterized by her dedication to fostering growth, inclusion, and resilience among women at all stages of their careers.
Expanding her commitment to education and community development, Serene co-founded My Little Gems Preschool and Da Di Learning Studio. My Little Gems Preschool focuses on holistic child development through experiential learning, emphasizing character building, concentration, and competencies, and incorporates child-appropriate meditation techniques to enhance focus and learning. Da Di Learning Studio offers programs that integrate Chinese language and cultural education, aiming to instill a deep appreciation for heritage among young learners. ๏ฟผ
In her role as Board Director of Partnership and Outreach at Image Mission, Serene contributes to empowering women through employment and personal development programs, helping them achieve self-sufficiency and confidence. She also serves as a mentor to fellows at the Singapore Global Leaders’ Network, guiding emerging leaders in navigating complex global challenges. Additionally, through Mentor Walks Singapore, she engages in one-on-one mentoring sessions during walks, providing career guidance and support to aspiring women professionals. ๏ฟผ
Serene’s commitment to lifelong learning is exemplified by her academic achievements. She holds an Executive MBA from INSEAD (2018), a Master of Science in Pharmacy from the National University of Singapore, a Minor in Technopreneurship from Stanford University, and has completed the inaugural Global CxO Program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Her leadership and contributions to the healthcare sector have earned her significant accolades, including the “Outstanding Leadership Award” at Health 2.0 in Dubai in 2022 and recognition as one of the “Top 50 Global Inspirational Women to Watch” in 2023 for her remarkable ability to create new pathways and opportunities for others.
