Join us on Friday mornings for a breakfast dialogue with our Board of Governors. This Series, Breakfast with the Board, will feature one AmCham Governor in each session, giving members the opportunity to hear about their professional journeys and their companies and engage with our Governors first-hand on how they became part of the AmCham community. The sessions will be moderated by one of our Committee Co-Chairs.

We will be hosting Brian Rogove, Managing Partner for Breve Holdings for our next session. Brian will share insights on his career journey from the corporate world to his subsequent entrepreneurial journey building multiple private equity backed companies as a CEO. He will share the lessons learned, both good and bad around building companies and creating shareholder value. Brian will also discuss his engagement with AmCham since he first landed in Singapore 20 years ago and how valuable this engagement has been throughout his journey.

Allison Cheung is a tax partner of PwC Singapore where she concentrates her practice in international tax advisory with a focus on US Tax. She has over 26 years of multi-jurisdiction tax experience with a balanced blend of professional tenure in publicly-listed and private multinational companies, a European cooperative bank, as well as PwC in Los Angeles, Hong Kong, and Singapore. She is known for her tactical and strategic planning in various high-value tax controversy cases with significant wins for the companies she represented. Her expanded role includes providing business and treasury solutions in navigating through various regulatory, foreign exchange and tax environments traversing Asia Pacific, Europe, and the Americas markets.

Her professional journey began in 1991 with PwC where she held various roles in Los Angeles and Hong Kong. In 2000, she pursued her tax career with several multinational companies spanning across financial services,
technology, and transportation & logistics industries. Allison is well respected by many as one of the top tax directors in the region. This is evidenced by her expanded global role in an SGX listed company in Group Tax
management and business advisory in 2013. Allison flourishes in her career as a trusted business advisor especially with her ability in identifying tax and business issues and risks with “a surgical eye” and simultaneously originates tactical advice and counsel in mitigating the risks while achieving value creation for her organizations. Allison was admitted to partnership in PwC Singapore in June 2017. Allison’s success stories tread beyond “Tax”. She has abundant of passion for creating and designing treasury and structured financing solutions where ultimately enhancing shareholders’ value, and providing strategic advisory in Fintech initial coin offering transactions.

Allison is a regular speaker at various conferences in Asia. She recently published an article in Bloomberg BNA Tax and spoke in a PwC network firm hosted webcast on US tax reform.

Brian Rogove is the Managing Partner for Breve Holdings, a family office focused on investment in cities within the Global South emerging markets across multiple sectors. Prior to establishing Breve, Brian was Group Chief Executive Officer of XCL Education, a Singapore headquartered Education group focused on providing high quality K-12 private schools to 30,000 students across Southeast Asia and backed by TPG Capital & Temasek Holdings.

Brian has lived and worked in Asia for 24 years and has spent the last 16 years focused on driving quality improvement in schools and preparing students for the jobs of tomorrow through innovative curriculum and pedagogical approaches.

Prior to partnering with TPG to form XCL, Brian founded A-Star-Education in 2016 in partnership with Verlinvest, to build a diverse global portfolio of education investments.

Prior to founding A-Star-Education Brian, served as Chief Executive Officer of Asia Pacific for Cognita for over 8 years. Since founding the business in 2008, Brian grew the Asia business from a start-up to representing over 2/3 of the Group EBITDA. He founded the Stamford American International School in Singapore and has invested nearly $1B in the Asia Pacific region across a wide range of both M&A and Greenfield assets in the education sector.

Brian serves on the Board of Reach Higher, a non-profit focused on equity and access to tertiary education for first generation students, chaired by Michelle Obama. Since 2017 he has served on the Board Facilities Committee for the Singapore American School.

Brian has a B.S. in Economics from Northern Illinois University and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
