Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles are now an integral part of business strategy and relations. As multinationals are under increasing scrutiny to record and monitor their ESG impact, this means cascading reporting obligations to their SME vendors. Despite potentially increasing ESG obligations for SMEs, incorporating an ESG strategy into their business core may lead to new opportunities and chart more sustainable growth plans.

While there is significant business value in incorporating ESG plans into their strategy, the big question of "How" remains as many SMEs still face challenges in understanding the fundamentals of ESG, including the lingo used, and what an ESG plan looks like when asked to provide one. Coupled with constrained resources and the struggle between ensuring business sustainability, survivability, and impactful ESG practices, creating an effective ESG strategy remains a critical challenge to SMEs.

As Digital CTO for the region, Sachin is driving the revolution of how data is used to create, design, and manage buildings together with strategic customers in Asia Pacific to solve complex built environment problems.

Prior to joining Johnson Controls, Sachin already has more than 18 years of strong techno -commercial experience in IoT and digital transformation, holding senior leadership positions at Rolls Royce, Trilliant and GE Digital Energy.

Sachin was also recognized with the “IoT Leader of the Year Award” by the IoT World Asia 2019 and is the current president of Singapore Computer Society IoT Chapter, which provides a platform where professionals learn, share knowledge, and promote a common understanding of IoT technology, applications and ultimately driving the adoption of IoT products and services.

Sachin Holds an MBA in Marketing from XLRI School of Management, Singapore, and Masters in Telecommunications Engineering from University of NSW Australia.

Jewel Myrtel Bautista is a Subject Matter Expert within the Moody’s Risk and Finance Analytics practice across Asia Pacific and the Middle East. Her key areas of focus are end to end Credit Risk
Assessment and optimization, ESG and Climate Risk management and sustainable lending practice. Jewel is well versed with the global as well as local regulatory regimes impacting lending considerations as well as ESG and climate factors relevant to lending.

Since joining Moody’s, she has been working closely alongside with some of the leading financial institutions in Asia Pacific to streamline credit assessment process. Her most recent areas of
work includes provide guidance and thought leadership and development of approaches for integration of ESG and climate risk considerations as part of the banks’ lending processes.

Prior to Moody’s, Jewel has worked with multiple financial institutions in Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam where she managed and provided a comprehensive credit assessment solution. She has worked with one of the largest banks in the region where her primary mandate included providing an optimal solution that incorporates both regulatory policies and internal credit policies in the bank’s end-to-end credit lifecycle process and overall risk management.

JC Sekar is the Co-founder and CEO of AcuiZen Technologies, a Singapore-founded venture. AcuiZen is a no-code application that enables people-centric digital transformation leading to operational excellence across the organization. He is also the Co-founder of EiSqr Solutions. EiSqr provides advisory, technology, and related services in advancing inclusiveness and integrity in a company’s ESG journey.

JC is an MBA alumnus of the National University of Singapore. He also holds a Master's degree in Technology (Aerospace) from IIT Madras, India. He has over 35 years of experience working with and leading teams across geographies and sectors. He has held roles across functional areas including Design, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Management System Assessments, HSE, L&D, Business Development, and Operational Excellence. A large proportion of his corporate experience, before his entrepreneurial journey, was with the 125+-year-old U.S.-based Safety Science Organization: Underwriters Laboratories Inc (UL) where he spent almost two decades. His last role there was Managing Director (Asia Pacific and Middle East) for its Health & Safety practice.

JC has travelled extensively worldwide to develop business and advice stakeholders, across industry sectors, on their Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental practices and risk mitigation strategies, competency development, and operational excellence initiatives. He is also credited with conceptualizing and launching several new service offerings during the course of his professional career.

JC has spoken and moderated panel discussions at several global events and conferences. Amongst other events, he was invited by UNIDO (United Nations International Development Organization) to Vienna, Austria in 2019 to present a paper on Industrial Safety in the context of Industry 4.0. JC is also a founding and active member of “Global Initiative for Future Industrial Safety” an International working group set up by UNIDO, GMIS, and Lloyd's Register Foundation.
