Cher Whee Sim serves as Micron’s Vice President of People Strategy, People Technology & Services, and Asia Talent Acquisition. She spearheads the Global People Organization’s strategic framework, leveraging strategic insights, cutting-edge technology, and AI, all underpinned by comprehensive data intelligence, to deliver exceptional experiences and results. Additionally, she leads the talent strategy and operations for Asia Talent Acquisition (TA) and TA Central Team, utilizing innovative human resource solutions to attract, engage, and retain top, diverse talent.
Since joining Micron in 2010, when the company acquired its joint venture, TECH Semiconductor, Ms. Sim has served in senior leadership positions of increasing responsibility and successfully spearheaded projects. By balancing the human element and corporate objectives, she has empowered teams with a desire to pursue organizational excellence in the semiconductor industry. She also served in engineering, financial, and management roles at TECH Semiconductor Singapore.
Ms. Sim now serves as chair and sponsor of the Asia chapter of the Micron Women’s Leadership Network and the Singapore chapter of LGBTQ+ Allies. She has also been an advisor on several councils, including Eightfold.ai, the Micron Diversity, Equality & Inclusion organization, Micron Foundation’s Singapore committee, Singapore Workforce Skill Qualification, and the Singapore Semiconductor Leadership Accelerator Program. She is also a Nanyang Technological University Career & Attachment Office - Industry Advisory Panel member. She was recognized as the DEI Champion awardee at the National Diversity & Leadership Conference 2021 and Human Resources Director Asia Hot List 2023. She also won the American Chamber of Commerce (Singapore)’s Anchor Leadership (MNC) Award 2023.
Ms. Sim earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the National University of Singapore. She graduated from the Stanford Graduate School of Business Executive Program, the Singapore Management University Executive Development Program, and the PwC Trust Leadership Institute Executive Leadership Program.
