Event Details
Workplace harassment has been brought to the forefront as the Singapore government stepped up policies on workplace fairness while preparing to introduce stricter laws prohibiting discriminatory employment practices. The proposed Workplace Fairness Legislation, which seeks to strengthen penalties against errant employers for discriminatory acts, among others, is expected to be enacted into law in 2024.
Workplace harassment occurs in different forms and are more common than people may think. Harassment can include sexual harassment; physical, emotional, and verbal abuse; and unfair treatment over personal attributes such as age, gender, race, religion and sexual orientation. With employee wellbeing now elevated as a priority for businesses, employers should consider helping their employees better understand their workplace safety rights.
Join our panel of experts as they discuss the appropriate solutions and legal recourse for victims reporting workplace harassment as well as the policies, procedures, and reporting mechanisms that employers should enact in the workplace to adequately address workplace harassment.
