According to the Women in Tech Network, it will take about 133 years to close the economic gender gap. The World Bank reports that globally women make up less than 40% of the global workforce, and as of 2022, women make up 28% of the tech industry workforce. So, how do we start to solve the issue of the lack of diversity in tech? Making STEM accessible is only one solution; exposure to role models and mentors are also essential.
The lack of representation and barrier to entry continue to keep women, even those with a background in STEM, from breaking into the technology space. And in many ways, getting more women through the door is just the beginning. It is just as important that they be able to thrive in the technology environment once there.
In honor of International Women's Day, we wanted to recognize our women leaders as well as our male allies in the tech industry in Singapore. Join our panel of experts to explore the following topics:
