Event Details

Join us for the first virtual Joint Cyber Security Working Group (JCSWG) meeting of the year for updates on cybersecurity issues and policies.

A joint initiative between the U.S. Embassy Singapore, Cyber Security Agency of Singapore - CSA, The American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore, BSA The Software Alliance and US-ASEAN Business Council, the JCSWG is a platform for the private sector to engage the Singapore Government in an attempt to build a lasting framework for public-private partnerships in the cyber realm.

This JCSWG meeting will include updates from Assistant Chief Executive (National Cyber Resilience), Cyber Security Agency (CSA) Mr Dan Yock Hau and officers from the US Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency.

Betsie Chacko is the Deputy Branch Chief for International Affairs at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), where she fosters cooperation with international partners to protect U.S. critical infrastructure from physical and cyber threats and improve global cyber and infrastructure security capabilities. Prior to joining CISA in 2020, she served as the Senior Cyber Policy Advisor at the Office of Policy within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). In this role, she worked with DHS components, interagency partners, and international partners to identify and build areas of cooperation to protect critical infrastructure, combat cybercrime, respond to cyber incidents, and help strengthen the security and resiliency of the cyber ecosystem.

Betsie has been with DHS for fourteen years and has worked on a variety of initiatives, from helping American parents adopt children overseas to working with federal and local leaders to be ready to respond in the event of a nuclear/biological incident. Her roles include serving as a Policy Advisor to the Assistant Secretary for Health Affairs, where she worked to strengthen pandemic and emerging infectious disease preparedness efforts within the Department. She also served as Deputy Director of the Interagency Modeling and Atmospheric Assessment Center, where she coordinated the official atmospheric modeling efforts and response for the United States government.

Mr Dan Yock Hau is Assistant Chief Executive for National Cyber Resilence at the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore. He is also concurrently Director (National Cyber Incident Response Centre) for the last 5 years. Prior to CSA, Mr Dan was an Army Officer for 25 years,. His last appointment in MINDEF was Deputy Head of the Joint Communications and Information Systems Department.

As part of the management team, Mr Dan supports the agency’s effort to provide dedicated and centralised oversight of the national cyber security’s functions, including cyber security operations, strategy, policy development, industry development and outreach. As ACE (NCR), he leads the Operations Group in overseeing the operational readiness, resilience and protection of the Critical Information Infrastructure (CIIs). This includes governance over CII operators, threat monitoring of the cyberspace, incident response to cyber incidents, and working with other government agencies to ensure coordinated efforts against cyber threats in Singapore. He also leads the Safer Cyberspace group to develop policy levers and engagement programmes to support enterprises and individuals to strengthen their cybersecurity preparedness.

Mr Dan graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronics Engineering). He holds a Master’s of Science in Defence Technology from Cranfield University, UK, and a Master’s of Arts in Defence Studies from King’s College London. He attended the Lee Kuan Yew Senior Fellowship in Public Service in LKY School of Public Policy.

Ian Lim is field chief security officer for Asia Pacific and Japan at Palo Alto Networks. In his role, Ian helps to develop innovative ideas, threat intelligence security frameworks and best practices for business executives as well as the wider cybersecurity community.

With over 20 years of dedicated cybersecurity experience, Ian has led global security departments for Fortune 100 companies, deploying defense-in-depth capabilities to thwart advanced attacks. He has cross-industry cybersecurity expertise in the financial, real estate, and healthcare verticals, and has done on-the-ground work in the US, EMEA and JAPAC. He is also instrumental in developing governance policies and risk frameworks to meet regulatory compliance requirements.

Ian graduated from University of California Irvine (UCI) with a Computer Science and English degree, and is currently an Executive Committee member at his alma mater’s Cyber Research Policy Institute. On the publishing front, Ian is the principal author of "Information Security Cost Management" and "Securing Cloud and Mobility", and a guest author in Auerbach's Information Security Management Handbook (required reading for CISSP).

Ms. Mahajan is the Head of Asia Pacific Public Policy & Regulatory Counsel where she is responsible for strategic-level Regulatory and Policy advice regarding Verizon’s business operations in Asia Pacific. Priya has previously served as Chief Counsel for Verizon-India where she was responsible for providing legal advice and guidance on regulatory, policy & commercial matters pertaining to India operations.

Priya holds extensive experience in providing regulatory advise on ICT issues such as converged networks, platforms, digital services delivery models, outsourcing, Data Privacy & ICT Licensing issues. In her policy role, she closely monitors the ICT industry public policy developments and works with policy makers on a range of issues viz Simplification of Telecom’s Regulatory frameworks , Privacy, Data protection, Cyber-security, Digital trade developments to ensure sustainable outcomes for the business. Priya is also a periodic speaker on next gen technology/ policy issues.

Priya is the President of the Asia Pacific Carriers Coalition( APCC) in an honorary position, APCC represents the advocacy & Policy interest of global carriers in the ASPAC region. Priya is a qualified Attorney & Company Secretary. She is an IAPP Certified Information Privacy Professional Asia (CIPP-A) & IAPP Singapore Chapter Co- Chair. She also holds an Accelerated management certification by the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.

Monisha, Asia Pacific Cyber Security Services Sales Leader, IBM, is currently heading the strategic cyber security sales across the APAC region. She has considerable expertise in handling global operations involving complex program management, growing businesses through innovation and technology infusion, building large cross-cultural teams, and orchestrating them to deliver desired measurable results.

Monisha holds a Ph.D. in Business Management from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. She completed her master’s degree in 'International Business' from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Delhi, and her Engineering degree in the field of 'Electronics and Communications' from Malviya National Institute of Technology, Rajasthan, India.

She has authored a business management book titled "Transformational Outsourcing"

She is an inventor and her patent submission stands filed, on “User-Centric Online Terms of Use: Interpretation System and Method for Enhanced Consent Decision”.

She was the co-chair for the Cyber-Security sub-committee prior to joining the AmCham Board of Governors, Singapore.
