Working from home has become the new normal through the pandemic, and the trend is set to remain even as we transition towards endemic COVID-19. In Singapore, the uncertainties in work arrangements caused by the pandemic have resulted in the Ministry of Manpower, Ministry of Social and Family Development, the Agency for Integrated Care, the Institute of Mental Health and the National Council of Social Services jointly issuing an advisory at the start of the pandemic outlining suggestions to help employers and employees cope with these new challenges.
The pandemic and remote work arrangements have led to more employees re-examining the purpose and meaning of work, while simultaneously contributing to lower morale and mental health amongst co-workers.
