These factors have contributed to the rapid growth of the life sciences industry in the region, opening up opportunities for expansion and investment.

In 2020, Singapore's biomedical manufacturing output accounted for close to 11% of the nation's total manufacturing output at SGD 33.56 billion. Major pharmaceutical companies have also established their regional headquarters in Singapore's vibrant research ecosystem.

Ada Choi leads CBRE’s occupier research in Asia Pacific and also oversees data strategy for the region. Since joining CBRE in 2005, Ada has held a variety of leadership roles, including head of capital markets research for Asia Pacific and head of research for Greater China.

Prior to joining CBRE, Ada worked in financial markets research for the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing’s Planning and Research team, where she led research into financial market development trends and benchmarking Hong Kong against other leading global financial centres.

Ada has 15 years research experience in the Asia Pacific real estate market. She holds a MSc in Financial Engineering and Quantitative Analysis for Business from the City University of Hong Kong and a BA in Business Administration from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the Hong Kong Society of Financial Analysts.

Jingyi is a Partner in the Transfer Pricing Practice of KPMG Singapore. She has over a decade of experience providing transfer pricing services to multinational clients. Her project experience covers a range of projects such as transfer pricing planning and documentation, audit defense, advance pricing arrangements, mutual agreement procedures, cost allocation studies as well as value chain management and restructuring projects.

Jingyi’s experience includes:
- advising multinational corporations from a wide range of industries on numerous transfer pricing planning and documentation projects, to assist with the determination of proper arm’s-length compensation for tangible property, intangible property, and services, amongst others;
- advising clients on value chain management projects and transfer pricing issues concerning the establishment/restructuring of shared service centres, treasury centres and other similar structures;
- assisting clients with cost allocation studies for global/regional headquarters, migration of intellectual property, intercompany financing transactions (e.g. intercompany loans, guarantees and cash pooling arrangements), as well as transfer pricing risk analysis projects;
- supporting clients with meeting compliance requirements such as country-by-country reporting, master file and local files;
- key member of the core team assisting clients with transfer pricing audit defense and dispute resolution in KPMG Singapore and has extensive experience in dealing with the tax authority in Singapore;
- assisting clients with negotiating unilateral and bilateral advance pricing arrangements (“APA”), as well as mutual agreement procedures (“MAP”). Her APA and MAP experience spans cases involving Singapore, Canada, China, Japan, Korea and Sweden; and
- regularly conducting classes at the Tax Academy of Singapore.

Shane Pang is Head of Government Affairs for Asia Pacific Consumer in Johnson & Johnson. In this role, Shane is responsible for leading the government affairs for the consumer sector in Asia Pacific. He is also a member of the Asia Pacific Consumer Health Leadership Team.

Prior to his current role, Shane served as the Head of Government Affairs for South East Asia in Johnson & Johnson. Before joining Johnson & Johnson, Shane was in GlaxoSmithKline holding roles of increasing responsibilities from sales and marketing, business development and regional government affairs and policy. With more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry, Shane has accumulated a wealth of experience in building partnerships and establishing successful platforms of engagements with policy makers and key external stakeholders that allowed for effective public private partnerships across the ASEAN region.

Diana serves as a Director, Innovation Policy at Pfizer where she leads policy development for issues related to clinical trials, including enrollment, diversity, and data sharing. Diana also serves as the policy lead for issues related to patient centricity, oncology, digital health, expanded access, and supply chains. Diana’s primary interest is in the development and implementation of evidence-based science- and health-related policies.

Previously, Diana worked at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) where she supported the President Obama’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST). As part of the executive secretariat for PCAST, Diana worked on a range of topics including private sector adaptation to climate change, forensic science, technology for aging, and ensuring the safety of the Nation’s drinking water.

Prior to OSTP, Diana was a program officer on the Board on Health Sciences Policy at the National Academy of Medicine where she staffed the Forum on Neuroscience and Nervous System Disorders. There she focused on a variety of issues including mental health care in sub-Saharan Africa and accelerating development of therapeutics for nervous system disorders.

Diana received her Ph.D. in neuroscience from Boston University. After graduating from Boston University, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary School. Diana has a B.S. in Biology with a concentration in neuroscience from the University of Rochester.
